Additional halts, frequency increase on Chennai to Bangalore, Vijayawada, Mangaluru and Sengottai routes.

Southern Railway has announced several experimental halts and an increase in frequency of trains.

Train Numbers 12685/86 Chennai Central – Mangaluru Central – Chennai Central Superfast Express get an experimental stoppage at Jolarpettai Junction for six months effective 23 February, 2019. Accordingly, 12685 has timings of 20.04/20.05 and 12686 has timings of 0434/0435 at Jolarpettai Junction.

Train Numbers 12639/40 Chennai Central – KSR Bengaluru – Chennai Central Brindavan Express get an experimental stoppage at Sholinghur on for six months effective 26 February, 2019. Accordingly, 12639 has timings of 0911/0912 and 12640 has timings of 1909/1910 at Sholinghur.

Train Numbers 12077/78 Chennai Central – Vijayawada – Chennai Central Jan Shatabdi Express get an experimental stoppage at Nayudupeta on for six months effective 23 February, 2019. Accordingly, 12077 has timings of 0913/0914 and 12078 has timings of 2034/2035 at Nayudupeta.

Consequent upon this stoppage, the timings at Chennai Central are also adjusted. 12077 departs Chennai Central at 0725, effective 01 March, 2019 (old departure 0735). 12078 arrives Chennai Central at 2240 (old arrival 2235) effective 23 February, 2019.

Train Numbers 16181/16182 Chennai Egmore – Sengottai – Chennai Egmore Silambu Express frequency is increased from bi-weekly to tri-weekly. The train will now operate from Chennai Egmore on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Saturdays. From Sengottai, the train will operate on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Sundays. The increase in frequency is effective 25 February, 2019.
