A sum total of Rs 1744 crore has been budgeted for doubling / tripling works across Central Railway. Of this, Rs 1644 crore will be financed from extra budgetary resources (institutional finance), that is from entities for example, LIC. The remaining Rs 100 crore is the capital set aside.
Doubling /Tripling works are already in progress for the following sections on CR. They are Pen-Roha, Godhan- Kalumna chord, Kalyan – Kasara, Sewagram-Nagpur, Teegaon -Chichonda, Wardha-Balharshah, Itarsi-Nagpur (balance 280 km), Pune -Londa, Daund-Manmad, Manmad-Jalgaon, Jalgaon-Bhusaval (4th line), Wardha-Nagpur (4th line ) besides Igatpuri-Manmad..
