Users of the railways’ unreserved ticket app are in for a pleasant surprise. Indian Railways has decided to extend the 5% bonus scheme applicable to R Wallet recharges for another 6 months.
The scheme will now be valid upto 24th August 2019.
The 5% bonus is applicable when a user recharges R-Wallet, the UTS app’s wallet service, on the value of the recharge. So, if a user tops up the wallet with Rs. 1,000 for example, they will get a bonus of Rs. 50 on the recharge. The bonus is automatically applied to the wallet.
IR has been offering the bonus for quite some time in an effort to encourage users to switch to the app, reduce queues at ticket counters. The app had approximately 5 lakh users in December 2018.
