Kisan Rail Between Bengaluru and Delhi Starts From 19th September

A new Kisan Rail service is scheduled to begin between Bengaluru and Delhi from 19th September 2020, according to a statement from South Western Railway.

The service will run between KSR Bengaluru – H. Nizamuddin via Mysuru, Hubballi and Pune, The aim of the service is to help farmers transport agricultural produce, especially perishable commodities, to markets cost effectively.

Kisan Rail shall be loaded with different commodities from various consignors and for various consignees. Five trips of the service are to run.

Loading/unloading of goods is permitted at any of the en-route stoppages. Consignments must be loaded within the allowed time. Passengers will not be allowed to travel on the train.

The distance between KSR Bengaluru and H. Nizamuddin is 2751 Kms. This is the first Kisan Rail from Karnataka. Details below:

Train No.00625 / 00626 KSR Bengaluru – H. Nizamuddin – KSR Bengaluru Kisan Rail Special

Train No. 00625 KSR Bengaluru – H. Nizamuddin Kisan Rail Special departs from KSR Bengaluru at 16.45 hrs on Saturdays to reach H. Nizamuddin at 23.45 hrs on Mondays.

The first service of Kisan Rail from KSR Bengaluru is on 19.09.2020 and the last service will be on 17.10.2020 (Total: 5 Trips)

In the return direction, Train No. 00626 H. Nizamuddin – KSR Bengaluru Kisan Rail Special departs from H. Nizamuddin at 17.00 hrs on Tuesdays to reach KSR Bengaluru at 01.45 hrs on Fridays.

The first service of Kisan Rail from H. Nizamuddin is on 22.09.2020 and the last service will be on 20.10.2020 (Total: 5 Trips)

En-route the train will have stoppages at Mysuru, Hassan, Arsikere, Davanagere, Hubballi Londa, Belagavi, Miraj, Pune Manmad, Bhusaval, Itarsi, Bhopal, Jhansi, Agra Cantonment and Mathura in both directions.

The train will have a composition of 10 VPH (High Capacity Parcel Vans) 2 Brake Luggage cum Generator Car (Total: 12 LHB coaches)

Union Budget 2020-21, Union Minister of Finance Smt Nirmala Sitharaman had made an announcement to build a seamless national cold supply chain for perishables, inclusive of milk, meat and fish adding that the Indian Railways will set up a Kisan Rail through PPP arrangements.
