The company will install Communication Based Train Control (CBTC) signalling under the contract. The signalling systems will be implemented on Mumbai Metro’s under construction Line 2A [Dahisar West – D N Nagar], Line 2B [DN Nagar – Mankhurd via BKC] and line 7 [Dahisar East –Andheri East] on the Mumbai metro.
On Pune metro, CBTC will be implemented on Line 1 [PCMC-Swargate] and line 2 [Vanaz-Ramwadi].

On the Pune metro, the CBTC will run 31 trains on the 32-kilometre-long stretch, at higher frequencies, speeds and safety.
CBTC implementation is also on the anvil on Mumbai suburban railway as part of Mumbai Urban Transport Project (MUTP-3A).
CBTC allows a higher number of trains to be run within a block section using two-way communication between a train and the control room manning the track signalling system. It uses real-time information to control reception and dispatch of trains. This enables the handling of a higher number of trains in a block section thus improving line capacity utilisation.
