A new train is being introduced between Shivamogga and Yesvantpur – this sector seems to see never-ending traffic. This new train is a Jan Shatabdi Express that will run four days a week.
The inauguration special will be flagged off by B S Raghavendra, MP, Shivamogga at 18.00 hrs on 2 February, 2019 and will terminate at Birur – making this a token attempt at inauguration.
Regular service begins with the train 12090 Shivamogga Yesvantpur Jan Shatabdi leaving Shivamogga on 4 February, 2019 onwards (on Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday) at 05.15 hrs and reach Yesvantpur at 10.10 hrs. Stoppages at Bhadravati (05.34/0535 hrs.), Kadur (06.24/06.25 hrs.), and Tumakuru (08..35/08.37 hrs.).
The return service 12089 Yesvantpur Shivamogga Jan Shatabdi will leave Yesvantpur on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays, and Sundays) at 17.30 hrs. and reach Shivamogga Town at 22.25 hrs. Stoppages at Tumakuru (18.33/18.35 hrs.), Kadur (20.39/20.40 hrs.), and Bhadravati (21.30/21.32 hrs.)
