North Western Railway Loads 15.9 Lakh Tons of Freight During Lockdown

North Western Railway managed to load 15.88 lakh tons of goods during the lockdown period. 46,109 wagons were loaded forming almost one thousand rakes.

85 rakes of cement, 100 rakes of food grains, 21 rakes of petroleum, 15 rakes of salt, 26 rakes of clinkers and 695 rakes of containers have been loaded from March 25 to date.

According to Chief Public Relations Officer of North Western Railway, Shri Abhay Sharma, North Western Railway is committed to ensure uninterrupted supply of essential commodities to all parts of the country during the lockdown.

Along with supply to the needy, loading is being done for the interests of industrial units and goods traders. NWR is also contributing to environmental protection with its special efforts and also helping its customers to increase business, he added.
