South Central Railway (SCR) has announced introduction of a WiFi based infotainment system on the 12785 Kacheguda Bengaluru Express.
Called ‘Magic Box’, the facility will provide around 500 hours of entertainment for passengers on the move without the need for an internet connection. Available are various movies in Hindi, English and regional languages as well as cartoon shows and music for children.
One rake of the train has been fitted with the facility. Passengers of the five air-conditioned coaches of the rake will be able to access the network. To login to the service, users will simply have to connect to the WiFi network called ‘Magic Box’ from their own device, register and proceed to select the media they wish to watch.
The system has been supplied by a private vendor, SR Moving Talkies, based in New Delhi. Only a few premier trains have the facility so far.
