Janak Kumar Garg, Chief Commissioner of Railway Safety, New Delhi, today conducted the statutory inspection of the newly constructed MRTS Up and Down lines between Velachery and St Thomas Mount on Thursday.
This was followed by a successful high speed trial run from 13:30 to 18:00 hrs. This rigorous safety certification process ensured every kilometre of new track meets the highest standards before passenger services commence. The tracks were certified fit and safe to run train operations post the CRS inspection.
With this, the MRTS line is now extended from Chennai Beach to St Thomas Mount via Velachery.
