SWR top line grows 14.31 per cent yoy to ₹8,550 crore

South Western Railway’s (SWR) revenue for 11 months ended February 2926 grew 14.31 per cent year-on-year (yoy) to ₹8,550 crore.

Of this, freight contributed ₹4,876 crore up 18.27 per cent yoy while passenger revenue rose 9.25 per cent yoy to ₹3,154 crore.

In February 2026 SWR’s gross revenue was ₹780 crore, a yoy growth of 7.25 per cent while passenger revenue for the month stood at ₹307 crore, up 14.5 per cent. SWR conveyed 13.66 million passengers during February.

Freight Revenue touched ₹415 crore, due to higher freight loading. Commercial Sundry Revenue was ₹26.38 crore, while ticket checking was ₹6.32 crore.

Freight loading

SWR loaded 47.5 Million Tonnes (MT) of originating freight during April – Feb period as against 40.6 MT in the year ago period, up 17 per cent yoy.

Commodity-wise, Iron Ore loading reached 19 MT up 10.7 per cent while steel loading increased to 9.8 MT up 35.9 per cent.Coal loading rose 16.6 per cent to 9.3 MT.

During February 2026, SWR loaded 4.26 MT up 5.3 per cent yoy. Steel loading touched 0.89 MT, the best ever performance for February.

 Coal loading rose to 0.90 MT up 19.6 per cent while RMSP loading was 0.158 MT.
