LTT Bhubaneswar Express Collides With Goods Train in Odisha: 20 injured

About 20 passengers of train number 12879 Bhubaneswar Lokmanya Tilak Terminus Express were reported to be injured when it hit the guard van of a goods train between Salagaon and Nergundi stations at 7 am on Thursday.

Salagaon, Nergundi Jn and Kapilas Road Junction form the three sides of a surface triangle on East Coast Railway’s Khurda Road division.

 Five coaches of the train derailed while three other coaches have been ‘displaced’ from the track according to East Coast Railway officials.

The officials said heavy fog was the reason for the collision adding that five passengers had major injuries and 11 had minor injuries. Of this, eight passengers have already received first aid after they were shifted to a local hospital.

Local people from nearby villages came to the rescue of passengers offering humanitarian aid, ECoR said.

No deaths have been reported. No further injured passenger found till now.

All coaches are being checked one by one

The Senior Divisional Commercial Manager, Khurda Road, has rushed to the accident site.

58132 (Puri – Rourkela) passeneger via Naraj

18426 EXP (DURG – PURI) express via Naraj

12831 Dhanbad – Bhubaneswar Rajyarani Expeess via Naraj

68413 Talcher – Puri MEMU DIVERTED via Naraj
