Covid 19 effect: Now unreserved ticket counters closed until March 31

Following suspension of Indian Railways’ passenger services due to the corona virus outbreak across the country, all UTS (unreserved ticketing system) ticket counters will be closed until March 31,2020

The Centre for Railway Information Systems (CRIS), IR’s IT arm has disabled UTS/UTS on mobile bookings for all cancelled trains.

Central Railway has closed down all UTS and PRS (over-the-counter long distance advance reservation) counters.

 South Eastern Railway has opened the barest minimum number of PRS counters only to facilitate refund of tickets cancelled during the three month period (relaxed for availing refund until June 21, 2020)

Eastern Railway has also suspended ticket sales on all modes including UTS counters, ATVMs, UTS on mobile and Jan Sadharan Ticket Booking Seva (JTBS) .

ECoR in a statement said it will utilise the frontline staff of PRS, UTS, Ticket Checking, Parcel/Luggage office for doing table work for up keeping of records and other works, if desired.

Passengers can however claim refund of e-tickets online through IRCTC website. There shall be no booking of fresh parcel traffic during the period.
