WR: Dadar Station Gets New Ramp on Platform 1

Keeping in view the need to provide a safe and comfortable travelling experience to the commuters, W. Rly is in the strive to provide more Foot Over Bridges, Escalators as well as Lifts, so as to combat the problems such as trespassing, overcrowding of bridges, etc.

In this direction, Western Railway has commissioned 24 new Foot Over Bridges (FOBs) in the year 2019 in the Mumbai suburban section taking the total to 119 FOBs. Many more such FOBs, Escalators & Lifts have been planned and some are also in the verge of completion.

One such development in this direction is the construction of a new ramp at Dadar from the MCGM FOB to Platform No. 1, which has been thrown open for passengers from 13th January, 2020.

According to a press release issued by Shri Ravinder Bhakar – Chief Public Relations Officer of Western Railway, a new 4.1 m wide and 30 m long ramp has been commissioned at Dadar at the north side on PF no 1 from MCGM South FOB, which has been opened for passengers on 13th January 2020.

This new ramp has been constructed by dismantling the old ramp, which was in a precarious condition. The work involved demolishing of three shops & office below the ramp which was successfully completed with the help & coordination of local authorities. The ramp has been constructed at a cost of Rs. 65 lakhs and will prove a boon to lakhs of passengers approaching Dadar station from the flower market area.
