IR Developing Kaizala Based Platform for Employee Medical Needs

SCR developing project for IR, launch expected this week

The Railway Board has tasked South Central Railway (SCR) with development of a new real-time digital communication platform to connect railway employees and doctors.

The platform is to be based on K, a productivity and chat service offering from Microsoft.

As part of Phase I that will go online in April, the platform will be used by IR to disseminate health and medicine related news or guidance to its employees. The app will also provide information to employee patients on the location of railway hospitals, health units, diagnostic centres and other important information.

The platform is also intended to be used by patients to raise queries regarding health issues to doctors over the app. The patient can also provide test reports and other images of previous medical history over the same app and receive responses directly.

The app is also expected to provide patients with the facility to store their medical records and supply information to the doctor as and when needed.

In Phase II, users will be able to register grievances related to medical services of IR, and track status on their redressal.

Phase I of the project is being executed by SCR and is expected to be rolled out all over IR by the end of April. Work on Phase II will begin at the same time.
