Sale of platform tickets at CR’s terminal stations stopped

To prevent the spread of COVID19, Railway Administration has decided to stop issuing platform tickets with immediate effect at following stations of Mumbai Division -Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus, Lokmanya Tilak Terminus, Kalyan , Thane , Dadar  and Panvel stations.

Responding to the circulation of old videos on Social media showing crowded trains, GM Central Railway, Sanjeev Mittal asked people not to believe in news reports about mass movement of people.

Addressing a virtual press conference on Friday, he appealed to people to not share these videos and requested to not to believe in such rumours.

He said Railways run more trains in summer for the convenience of passengers and adequate tickets are available as only passengers having confirmed tickets are being permitted to board the trains. Shri Mittal added passengers are advised to adhere all norms, SOPs related to COVID19 during the boarding, travel and at destination.

  1. Stoping the sale of platform ticket is welcome. But when single lady with child or old people require help will suffer. The railway should make adiqate arrangements for their needs. In some station there is battery car. But never come for help. Hope they take care of the above problem.
