Adarsh Station scheme : 104 stations remaining

A total of 104 stations are remaining to be developed under the ‘Adarsh’ Station Scheme according to Railway Minister Piyush Goyal . This would be completed by the end of this fiscal he added.

Adarsh stations have various passenger amenities such as improved station building façade , retiring room, waiting room (with bathing facilities), separate waiting room for ladies, landscaping of circulating area, earmarked parking, signages, pay and use toilets, foot-over-bridge besides ramps at entry to station.The works are funded under the budget head ‘Passenger Amenities’.

On board services

IR provides ‘Coach Mitra’ services in about 1050 train pairs . It is a single window interface to register coach related requirements such as cleaning, disinfestation, linen, train lighting, air conditioning and watering of coaches.

IR also provides on-board housekeeping services in nearly 1090
pairs of trains including Rajdhani, Shatabdi and other important long distance trains.Services include cleaning of coach toilets, doorways, aisles and passenger compartments on the run.
