Central Railway (CR) successfully completed the Bhadli yard re-modelling works as part of the Jalgaon–Bhadli 5th line project on Wednesday, August 12, 2026. The Jalgaon–Bhadli 5th line project is an 8.66-9-km railway infrastructure work by CR, aimed at easing severe traffic congestion on the vital Bhusaval–Jalgaon corridor.
The yard re-modelling was undertaken to enhance capacity and operational flexibility on the busy Jalgaon- Bhusaval section.With the completion of Bhadli Yard remodeling, the focus will now shift to the Jalgaon Yard re-modelling work under this 5th line project.
Major works completed during the Non-Interlocking (NI) period include:
1. Insertion of seven, 1-in-16 turnouts
2. Insertion of one, 1-in-12 turnout
3. Slewing of 510 m of Jalgaon–Bhusaval DOWN 3rd Line
4. Re-grading of DOWN Main Line for 674 m
5. Re-grading of UP Main Line for 674 m
6. Alteration in existing electronic interlocking (EI) – 35 numbers of of routes increased
The NI work commenced at 20:35 hrs on August 11, 2026 and was successfully completed at 18:55 hrs on August 12, 2026. During this period, 139 trains were handled, comprising 108 coaching trains and 31 goods trains.
The train handling breakup was as follows:
UP direction: 70 trains – Coaching 56, Goods 14
DOWN direction: 69 trains – Coaching 52, Goods 17
To facilitate the work, corridor blocks were planned in phases:
1. DOWN Main Line and 3rd Line block from 08:45 hrs to 10:45 hrs
2. UP Main Line block from 10:50 hrs to 12:50 hrs
3. 4th Line block from 11:45 hrs to 13:40 hrs
4. Final combined UP and DOWN block from 16:00 hrs to 19:00 hrs
The entire operation was carried out and completed in the targeted time despite continuous rains.The successful completion of this major infrastructure work will further strengthen train operations and capacity on the Jalgaon–Bhadli section.
