WR extends south end FOB at Bandra terminus

Western Railway (WR) has extended of the existing Foot over Bridge (FOB) at the south end of Bandra Terminus.

With this, the existing FOB which earlier was connected PF No. 1 to PF No. 2/3 will connect the remaining platforms 4/5 and 6/7 as well.

The extended FOB is 6 meter wide and its total length is 54 meters.

The extended portion of the FOB has been constructed at a cost of approx. Rs. 1.60 crore.

The work commenced in March 2019 and was completed in October 2020.

WR has commissioned nine new FOBs and one new Skywalk as well as extension of Bandra Terminus FOB have been commissioned during this period.

As per the audit report of IIT-Bombay, 16 unsafe FOBs of WR were to be dismantled. Of these 13 have been dismantled.

The dismantling work of the remaining three FOBs, i.e, Dadar (South), Andheri (Middle – out of six spans, two east spans have been delaunched) and Goregaon (Middle) are in progress and the target date of completion of these remaining FOBs to be dismantled is December 31, 2020. .
