Sanjay Kumar Srivastava, GM, South Central Railway flagged off the first ever refrigerated (Reefer) container rake on May 2, 2026 from Inland Container Depot (ICD), Sanatnagar in the presence of Sanjay Swarup, Chairman and Managing Director Container Corporation of India Limited (CONCOR).
This refrigerated (Reefer) container branded as “Aushadhi Express,” is operated by CONCOR to Jawaharlal Nehru Port (JNPT). This service especially designed for the safe transportation of life-saving medicines and other temperature-sensitive cargo. The consignment carried in advanced Reefer containers equipped with diesel power packs to ensure uninterrupted cooling throughout the journey.
This dedicated Reefer rake services expected to reduce transit time, lower logistics costs, and improve supply chain reliability for exporters and domestic distributors. CONCOR is offering this service in partnership with Maersk Line, which is providing high-quality reefer containers.
