ECoR Reports 10% Higher Freight Loading YoY in September 2020

East Coast Railway has reported a 10% increase in freight loading for the month of September 2020, according to a statement released by the zone.

The zone says it carried 16.16 million tons of freight in September 2020. Loading for the same month in September 2019 was 14.58 million tons.

In August 2020, ECoR had reported freight loading of 15.11 million tons.

East Coast Railway has utilized 8,114 wagons per day in September 2020 only which is 763 more wagons per day during the month with a growth of 10.4% more. In September 2019 the zone had utilized 7,351 wagons per day.

Serving ports, steel and thermal power plants, ECoR is one of the highest freight loading zones in India.

Indian Railways has loaded 102.12 million tons of freight in September 2020 This is 13.59 million tonnes higher than last year’s freight loading for the same month (88.53 million tons). The increase in freight loading is 15.35%.
