Praveen Kumar, MD, DFCCIL, conducted a comprehensive rail car inspection on Saturday to review the progress of the Vaitarna–JNPT section of the Western Dedicated Freight Corridor (WDFC).
This section, apart from providing connectivity to Jawaharlal Nehru Port Trust (JNPT), includes three interchange stations with Indian Railways at JNPT, Taloja, and Kharbao.
During the inspection, the operational readiness of the section was assessed in line with committed timelines. He called for a concerted final push and shared key insights highlighting critical checks required prior to commissioning.
The inspection was followed by a detailed review meeting with all stakeholders regarding achievement of timely commissioning of the section.
New Shrimadhopur demonstration yard
Praveen Kumar, MD, DFCCIL, also inaugurated the demonstration yard at New Shrimadhopur on WDFC on Friday. The demonstration yard will serve as a practical training ground for engineers and field staff, helping them understand systems, refine skills, and enhance operational excellence on the ground.
