NER Izzatnagar Division shows steady growth in FY26

North Eastern Railway’s (NER) Izzatnagar Division showed steady growth in the financial year 2025-26 (FY26) achieving a total revenue of ₹560.19 crore, registering a growth of 3.81 per cent over the previous year (yoy). Freight operations contributed ₹161.66 crore through the loading of 952 rakes while parcel earnings stood at ₹5.08 crore, a yoy growth of 13.65 per cent.

Passenger business / amenities

Mail/express train services on the division’s network rose 12 per year-on-year(yoy).  The number of passengers served during the fiscal was 69 million, up 5.18 per cent yoy. Passenger earnings was ₹365.46 crore, a yoy growth of 4.35 per cent. Rakes of four important trains have been converted to LHB coaches, for better safety standards and improved ride quality. Nine new lifts and 12 escalators were commissioned across stations for passenger convenience. 

Increase in section speed / track fencing

Izzatnagar Division successfully upgraded sectional speed to 110 kmph over 22.86 RKm and achieved 100 per cent formation treatment ensuring improved track stability and ride quality. The division completed 75 Km of fencing so as to move towards 130 kmph sectional speed readiness and Cattle Run-Over (CRO) prevention.

Electrification

The division commissioned 03 new SSPs and execution of 4.36 TKM electrification. Izzatnagar Loco Shed commissioned 42 new electric locomotives in FY 26. With this, the division’s locomotive holding touched 200 locos, including 142 electric and 58 diesel.

Investment in Safety

The division has commissioned Electronic Interlocking at Rati ka Nagla RKN with Long-Haul Loop, improving throughput and operational flexibility.Interlocking of four level crossings was done in FY26.

Track renewal

Izzatnagar division achieved outstanding progress in TSR with ~491 per cent of targets in both Primary and Secondary BG, while TRR and CTR consistently exceeded 100 per cent, reflecting a strong push towards infrastructure strengthening.USFD Testing: 1,942.98 TKm of track was ultrasonically tested (107.94 per cent) to pre-emptively detect rail flaws and Toe load measurement achieved 657 per cent of the target (788 Tkm), ensuring the structural integrity of track fittings.
