Northeast Frontier Railway (NFR) recorded a freight loading of 0.972 million tonnes (MT) during April 2026 registering an 8.6 per cent growth compared to freight loading during April 2025.
Several key commodities registered remarkable growth during April 2026. Cement loading witnessed an exceptional rise of 329 per cent, while coal loading increased by 141.7 per cent over the same period last year.
Dolomite loading also showed healthy growth of 20.7 per cent. Additionally, loading under the “Others” category, comprising miscellaneous commodities, recorded a substantial increase of 190 per cent, reflecting improvement in transportation of construction-related and allied materials across the region.
