Pune-Phaltan DEMU Service to be Flagged Off on 30th March by Piyush Goyal

[Correction: An earlier version of the article incorrectly stated a MEMU service was starting and not a DEMU service – the error is regretted]

Minister of Railways Piyush Goyal is set to flag off a new Diesel Electric Multiple Unit (DEMU) service between Pune and Phaltan tomorrow at 3 pm.

The ceremony will be conducted via video link. Regular DEMU service will start from 31st March 2021.

According to a statement from Central Railway, the new Pune-Phaltan DEMU service will benefit residents of the Phaltan area by providing better commutes to Pune.

Expected to be present at the ceremony apart from the Railway Minister are Union Minister for Information & Broadcasting Prakash Javadekar, Deputy Chief Minister of Maharashtra Ajit Pawar, Guardian Minister of Satara district Shamrao Patil, Leader of Opposition in Maharashtra state assembly Devendra Fadnavis and others.
