RVNL bags doubling project in ECR’s Samastipur division

Rail Vikas Nigam Limited (RVNL) bagged a major EPC (engineering procurement construction) contract from East Central Railway (ECR) for the doubling of 41.04-km between Kundawa Chainpur (excluding) and Raxaul (excluding) section in Samastipur Division.

Project Details

RVNL, in a stock exchange filing on Monday, July 20, 2026, said it had emerged as the lowest bidder (L1) for the project valued approximately at ₹358.97 crore (including GST) .

Doubling is to be done between Kundawa Chainpur (excluding) and Raxaul (excluding) section in Samastipur Division from Chainage 145.500 to Chainage 186.540 totalling 41.04 km.

The project under EPC includes earthwork, blanketing, major and minor bridges, station and other buildings, platform works, level crossing works, and other miscellaneous works for 25T Indian Railway Standard Loading as part of the Sitamarhi–Raxaul doubling project. The targeted timeline for project execution is 1095 days.
