ER Asansol Division: Jasidih bypass line 90 per cent complete

The ₹293 crore Jasidih bypass line project is 90 per cent complete and is likely to be completed by July 2026. Situated in the Asansol division of Eastern Railway, the bypass line connects Kumrabad Rohini and Deoghar directly avoiding loco reversal at Jasidih.

Presently, both passenger and goods trains from / to Dumka and Godda trains travelling to / from Kumrabad Rohini have to mandatorily undergo loco reversal at Jasidih creating a major operational hurdle.

The bypass allows trains to go from Kumrabad Rohini to Deoghar without entering Jasidih station area thus decongesting the station. This project will eliminate loco reversal for five passenger trains and two goods trains each day ensuring faster conveyance of goods and passengers.

Project progress

Ninety per cent of the actual construction work is fully complete with rock cuttings, road-over-bridges, road-under-bridges (RUB), road over-bridges (ROB), and smaller bridges already completed.

Moreover, signalling on the section is fully ready and will safely control track paths and direct train traffic between Kumrabad Rohini and Deoghar ensuring smooth switching of routes at higher speed, once the new bypass opens.
