Eastern Railway’s (ER) successfully commissioned its eighth Intermediate Block Signalling (IBS) at Bindubasini Halt between Tildanga and Bonidanga stations in New Farakka– Bonidanga double line section on September 2,2026.
The commissioning involved a series of important signalling and safety-related works, including alteration of the Electronic Interlocking (EI) system at Bonidanga to facilitate IB working, alteration of the Panel Interlocking (PI) system at Tildanga and necessary alterations at Level Crossing Gate No. 63.
The entire commissioning work was successfully completed within a 4.5-hour traffic block, without causing any disruption to train operations. Counselling of operating staff regarding IB working is also being undertaken jointly by officers and supervisors.
Along with the commissioning of IBS at Bindubasini Halt , several modern signalling, communication, power and safety systems were also installed and commissioned, further strengthening the reliability, safety and efficiency of railway operations in the section.
