Metropolitan transport projects in Mumbai receive Rs 744.7 crore

The interim budget presented in parliament on Friday has allocated Rs 744.7 crore for metropolitan transport project In the Mumbai area. Of this, Rs 743.7 crore has been set aside for projects in progress. These include Rs 244.92 crore for Mumbai Urban Transport Project ( MUTP phase II) ,Rs 283.78 crore for MUTP phase III.besides Rs 50 crore for MUTP IIIA. 

The Belapur-Seawood – Uran  electrified double line corridor has received an allocation of Rs 153 crore. This project is operational until Kharkopar. Beyond Kharkopar, land acquisition in a few patches has to be done to complete the section up to Uran.
