More Indian Railways Zones Extend Services of Parcel Trains Across Country

SER EXTENDS THE RUNNING OF TIME TABLED PARCEL EXPRESS TRAINS FOR UNINTERRUPTED SUPPLY

The Time Tabled Parcel Express Trains which are already running with essential commodities have proved to be immensely beneficial for fulfilling the requirements of the society in prevailing situation. Keeping in view the urgent need for transportation of essential commodities, it has further been decided to continue the running of Parcel Express Trains as per the following schedule:

Shalimar-Ranchi-Shalimar Parcel Express

00801/00802 Shalimar-Ranchi-Shalimar Parcel Express has now been extended to run up to 25^th April, 2020 daily both from Shalimar and Ranchi. The train will leave Shalimar at 10:00 hours and in the return direction will leave Ranchi at 22:15 hours.

Mumbai-Shalimar-Mumbai Parcel Express

00113/00114 Mumbai-Shalimar-Mumbai Parcel Express has now been extended to run up to 25^th April, 2020 daily both from Mumbai and Shalimar. The train will leave Mumbai CSMT at 23:55 hours  and in the return direction will leave Shalimar at 21:45 hours.

Yesvantpur-Howrah-Yesvantpur Parcel Express

00615 Yesvantpur-Howrah Parcel Express has now been extended to run up to 23^rd  April, 2020 daily leaving Yesvantpur at 12:00 hours. In the return direction, 00616 Howrah-Yesvantpur Parcel Express will continue to run till 25^th April, 2020 daily leaving Howrah at 11:00 hours.

Porbander-Shalimar-Porbander Parcel Express

00913 Porbander-Shalimar Parcel Express will continue to run from Porbander on 14^th, 18^th, 20^th, 22^nd and 24^th April, 2020 leaving Porbander at 08:00 hours. In the return direction, 00914 Shalimar-Porbander Parcel Express will also continue to run from Shalimar on 14^th, 16^th, 20^th, 22^nd, 24^th and 26^th April, 2020 leaving Shalimar at 22:50 hours. 

Secunderabad-Howrah-Secunderabad Parcel Express

00759 Secunderabad-Howrah Parcel Express will continue to run leaving Secunderabad on 16^th and 23^rd April, 2020 at 22:00 hours. In the return direction, 00760 Howrah-Secunderabad Parcel Express will continue to run leaving Howrah on 18^th and 25^th April, 2020 at 16:05 hours.

Itwari-Tatanagar-Itwari Parcel Express

00881 Itwari-Tatanagar Parcel Express has now been extended to run from Itwari daily up to 24^th April, 2020 leaving Itwari at 09:30 hours. In the return direction, 00882 Tatanagar-Itwari Parcel Express has also been extended to run from Tatanagar daily up to 25^th April, 2020 leaving Tatanagar at 03:30 hours.  

The essential commodities which are being transported by these Time Tabled Parcel Express Trains include vegetables, medicines, grocery items, different kind of fruits, fish, eggs etc. The above Parcel Express Trains also cater the needs of the people residing around Kharagpur, Purulia, Balasore, Rourkela, Chakradharpur and other stations under SER’s jurisdiction in addition to major cities enroute.

NFR Running Time Tabled Parcel Trains to Various Cities in North East

Northeast Frontier Railway is operating Parcel Express trains as per fixed Time Table timings towards Agartala (Tripura), Dibrugarh (Assam), Dimapur (Nagaland) and Mendipathar (Meghalaya) to ensure transportation of essential goods in small quantity in the wake of COVID-19 to parts of Tripura, Nagaland, Assam & Meghalaya.

The Parcel Express trains are having provisions for loading and unloading of Parcel packages during its journey at various stations falling on its routes. The initiatives of running such parcel trains by NFR were mainly patronized by booking of medical items and food items. Items mainly include masks, plastic caps, hand sanitizers etc.

NFR will also run such services in future if various State Govts of the North-eastern states come forward to make use of such services and traders are also facilitated to transport their produces & wares by such parcel trains.

At a time when interstate road transport services are at standstill due to nationwide lockdown throughout the country; these parcel train services can be of good use to meet probable shortfall of items like medicines of common use, other medical items, sanitary items, infant food, fruits, milk product etc. in remote areas of any states.

All these items alongwith other misc items are regularly coming to Guwahati from various parts of our country on priority basis. So both traders and State Govts departments of NE States can book such items to their respective states through the parcel express trains being run by NFR and unload at various stations on the route for the benefit of common people.
