South Coast Railway (SCoR) successfully commissioned Automatic Block Signalling (ABS) along 28.112 route km (56.224 track km) double-line stretch between Adoni, Isivi, Kuppagal, and Kosgi stations in Guntakal Division October 16, 2026.
Sanctioned at an estimated cost of ₹500 crore, this commissioning marks the successful conversion of the Guntakal–Raichur corridor into a fully automated signalling section. With this, SCoR has commissioned a total of 105 route km of Automatic Block Signalling across its network.
The newly commissioned 28.112 route km stretch—comprising Adoni–Isivi (6.64 route km), Isivi–Kuppagal (7.79 route km), and Kuppagal–Kosgi (13.68 route km)—has been equipped with modern signalling and fail-safe safety infrastructure.
Advanced Dual Multi-Section Digital Axle Counters (Dual MSDAC of Frauscher make) featuring 178 detection points have been deployed across the three sections. The project involved the commissioning of 38 new mainline signals, 24 station semi-automatic signals, and five dedicated ABS huts.
To enhance level crossing (LC) safety, LC gate No. 204 has been interlocked with the signalling network, while modern approach locking and audio-visual approach warning systems have been commissioned at LC Gates 195, 199, 201, 204, and 205.
The signalling system is further reinforced with five integrated power supply units for uninterrupted power, five advanced data loggers for real-time asset performance monitoring and diagnostic reporting and 16 sets of Universal Fail-Safe Block Interfaces alongside non-vital multiplexers.
