CR: Swachchata Pakhawada-2019 – Day 12: Swachh Neer

Swachh Neer was observed on Central Railway on 27th September 2019 as a part of “Swachhata Pakhwada”, Clean Neer and residential premises is ensured. Officers, Staff, Students, NGOs involved in to cleaning activities of water stands, water coolers, wash basins, water filters, storage tanks and water-bodys.  Water samples were collected and tested. Water vending machines were also inspected.

Cleanliness activities carried out at the Divisions are as follows.

Mumbai Division:-   Water Vending Machines and Water stands at LTT, Dadar and various other stations were inspected by Station Directors/ Station Masters and Health Inspectors and samples of water were also checked. Intensive cleaning work of all water stands was carried out. 

Shri Manoj Joshi, Principal Chief Mechanical Engineer, Central Railway led a team of six people from Matunga Workshop who gathered, collected and selected scrap pieces and created the sculpture of Mahatma Gandhi. This team consisting of Artist Rushal, other staff of Carriage & Wagon dept. worked continuously for 5 days to create this piece of Art which will be displayed at the Railway Board Exhibition on 2nd October 2019.

Pune Division:- Water source inspection and water testing was done at Railway Hospital, Shivaji Nagar Pump house station, GPR colony and other areas of Shivaji Nagar.Water audit was carried out at Satara. Besides intensive cleaning activities were also carried out at Pune and special cleaning drive was done by Lions Club Members of Karad.

Bhusaval Division:  Shri A K Sinha, Principal Chief Personnel Officer, Central Railway inspected Bhusaval station and personally monitored cleaning work of track area of platform no 3 & 4. In addition he also led Shramdaan activities along with ADRM, Sr.DPO, Principal Railway School, Other Senior Railway Officers and  employees of Bhusaval division. Nukkad Natak on Cleanliness and ban on use of plastic was also organized by students of Central Railway Secondary School.

Nagpur Division: Water vending machines and Water Stands were inspected along with Fruit and Neer stalls by Officers and Supervisors. Cleanliness oath was taken by members of Sir’s Lion Club and other staff under the guidance of DRM, Nagpur. Cleanliness activities were undertaken at various stations.

Solapur Division: Intensive cleaning and rag picking activities were undertaken by staff at Gulbarga station. Inspections of Water drains were carried out by Supervisors at various stations.
