Central Railway’s (CR) Solapur Division successfully conducted the zone’s first Independent Safety Assessor (ISA) Audit Trial of KAVACH 4.0 on both Up and Down lines of the 107.4 route km Kurduvadi–Boribial section on September 19 and September 20, 2026.
Audit Parameters
As part of the KAVACH 4.0 ISA Audit Trial, the Independent Safety Assessor team from Italy conducted and validated a series of critical safety scenarios under actual field conditions. The tests included:
* SPAD (Signal Passing at Danger) Prevention Test
* PSR (Permanent Speed Restriction) Speed Control Test
* Loop Line Speed Control Test
* Automatic SOS Generation in case of unusual stoppage in a block section
* Manual SOS Generation through SMOCIP by Station Master
* Manual SOS Generation from Onboard KAVACH by the Loco Pilot
* SPAD Prevention in case of sudden signal put-back
* Roll-away Protection on Down Gradient
* Automatic Whistling at Level Crossing Gate
* Station KAVACH Inspection
RFID Tags installed
As part of the KAVACH 4.0 project, a total of 1,430 RFID tags were installed and programmed throughout the Kurduvadi–Boribial section in accordance with the approved design. Comprehensive validation and field trials were undertaken in compliance with the standards prescribed by the RDSO (Research Designs and Standards Organisation), Indian Railways’ research arm.
