ER completes Jasidih bypass line

Eastern Railway has fully completed the construction of the ₹293-crore Jasidih bypass line project.

The new line bypasses the congested Jasidih main station by directly linking Kumrabad Rohini and Deoghar.

This direct alignment eliminates the time-consuming process of loco reversal at Jasidih station.

The loco- reversal process involves pulling into Jasidih station platform, decoupling the locomotive, working the loco to the opposite end of the rake, re-attaching of the loco and undergoing mandatory brake testing.

Prior to this, mail /express and goods trains moving between Dumka, Godda, and Asansol via Jasidih endured severe operational bottlenecks that caused delay due to platform congestion at Jasidih.

With the completion of this vital bypass project, engine reversals for both passenger and freight traffic between Dumka, Godda, and Asansol via Jasidih are completely eliminated.

At least five major passenger trains daily will now experience dramatically slashed travel times, ensuring smoother, lightning-fast, and hassle-free journeys.

Further, at least two crucial goods trains per day will bypass the main station bottleneck entirely accelerating trade and expediting the delivery of essential commodities.

The completion of this project included extensive rock cutting, construction of Road Over-Bridges (ROB), Road Under-Bridges (RUB), and key minor bridges.

Modern digital signalling networks and track blueprints are fully operational and tested, to direct safe train movements between Kumrabad Rohini and the Deoghar link.
