Agnipath Scheme protesters vandalise Secunderabad station; Bihar, UP also affected

Mobs of protestors took to venting out their anger on railway establishments while protesting against the Agnipath scheme for Army rectruitments launched by the Government.

Trains were stopped and services affected across various parts of the country. Mobs vandalised railway property by pelting stones, breaking equipment and passenger facilities at various railway stations. At many places, train tracks were blocks, and trains were burnt as well.



Ballia in Uttar Pradesh, Secunderabad in Telangana, Firozabad in UP bore the brunt of the attacks and at places in West Bengal, services were blocked.

Secunderabad Railway station in Hyderabad was one of the worst affected by the targetted violence.

SCR shut down many railway services including all MMTS local train services in Hyderabad.

Hyderabad Metro has also suspended all services across all three corridors.

South Central Railway have started a dedicated helpline for information on train movements.

Ballia in UP was also affected.
