
Modern Coach Factory, Raebareli manufactured 2126 coaches during the financial year 2025–26 (FY26), its highest ever and up five per cent year-on-year. In the financial year 2024–25 (FY25), MCF produced 2025 coaches.
Surpassing this, in 2025–26, a total of 2126 coaches were manufactured, marking an increase of approximately five per cent over the previous year.
Vande Bharat trainset
MCF has successfully completed the manufacturing of its first “Vande Bharat” trainset. One rake is currently under testing and will soon be handed over to the concerned zone, said a statement from MCF.
The 2126 coaches produced include a wide range of rolling stock such as Vande Bharat coaches, MEMU coaches, Deen Dayalu coaches, sleeper coaches, 3-tier economy coaches, AC 3-tier coaches, general chair cars, power cars, 2-tier coaches, coaches for Divyangjan (persons with disabilities), Tejas coaches, parcel vans, AC chair cars, and other variants.
During FY26, MCF also achieved record production of 2168 coach set bogies, 2205 coach shell assemblies, and 2182 wheel sets, which are the highest ever figures.
On MCF’s achievement, General Manager Vivek Khare stated that this success has been made possible due to the dedication and commitment of Team MCF.
Record Production in Forged Wheels
MCF has also set a new benchmark in wheel production by manufacturing 62,938 wheels during FY26. MCF is producing LHB and locomotive wheels using advanced technologies. Against a target of 50,000 forged wheels, MCF achieved forging of 62,938 wheels, which is 54 per cent higher than the previous financial year FY25.
Additionally, 59,161 finished wheels (passed quality checks) were produced, marking an increase of 77per cent over the previous year.
Since the acquisition of the Forged Wheel Plant from Rashtriya Ispat Nigam Ltd (RINL), wheel production has been consistently increasing under the Ministry of Railways. For FY 2026–27, MCF has been assigned a target of 60,000 wheels.
