New-Delhi Dibrugarh bi-weekly Rajdhani via Barauni re-routed to save distance

 The Railway Board has decided to re-route train number 20505/06 New Delhi -Dibrugarh-New Delhi bi-weekly Rajdhani express via the Bogibeel bridge.

With this, the distance between New Delhi and Dibrugarh will reduce by 179 km.

In addition, the region on the northern banks of the Brahmaputra will be connected to New Delhi by a Rajdhani.

 The train will leave Dibrugarh on Mondays and Fridays at 2200 hours to reach New Delhi at 1355 hours on Wednesdays and Sundays.

In its return leg, the train will leave New Delhi at 0925 hours on Thursdays and Sundays to reach Dibrugarh on Saturdays and Tuesdays.

In its new route, the train will have commercial halts at Dhemaji, North Lakhimpur, Harmuti, Vishwanath Charali, Rangapara North, New Misamari, Udalguri and Tangla.

The commercial halts that would cease to exist for this train are Guwahati, Hojai, Lumding, Diphu, Dimapur, Mariani and New Tinsukia

Dibrugarh-Kolkata Weekly diverted

Train number 12525 /26 Dibrugarh-Kolkata-Dibrugarh has also been rerouted via the Bogibeel Bridge.

The new commercial halts for this train include Dhemaji, Gogamukh, North Lakhimpur, Harmuti, Gohpur, Biswanath Charali, Rangapara North, New Misamari, Udalguri Tangla and Rangiya.

The new route will shorten the distance by 179 km between Kolkata and Dibrugarh and so will running time.

Train number 12526 Dibrugarh-Kolkata weekly express will now leave Dibrugarh at 1410 on Tuesdays and reach Kolkata on Wednesdays at 1500 hours. In its return leg, it will leave Kolkata at 2140 on Wednesdays and reach Dibrugarh at 2230 on Thursdays.

The Railway Board has directed the implementation of these two changes from ARP (advance reservation period) or no booking date whichever is earlier.
