
Northeast Frontier Railway (NFR) has targeted completion of the entire Dimapur–Kohima (Zubza) railway line by 2029. In a statement, NFR said works on the remaining 47.28 route kilometres are in progress.

Two sections of the project have been commissioned in phases — the 16.5-km Dhansiri–Shokhuvi section in October 2021 and the 14.64-km Shokhuvi–Molvom section in March 2025.

NFR commenced goods train operations from Molvom railway station in Nagaland starting September 2025. At present, regular train services operate between Shokhuvi – Guwahati and Shokhuvi -Naharlagun in Arunachal Pradesh
