NFR Feb 2026 freight unloading rises 4.7 per cent yoy

Northeast Frontier Railway (NFR) unloaded 1191 good rakes in February 2026 as against 1137 rakes in February 2025, an increase of 4.7 per cent year-on-year (yoy). Major items unloaded include food grains, fertilizers, cement, coal and other goods.

Assam accounted for the unloading of 655 rakes, of which 308 rakes carried essential commodities, underlining the railways’ crucial role in supporting public distribution systems and daily consumer needs. During the same period, 85 rakes were unloaded in Tripura, 17 in Nagaland, 9 in Arunachal Pradesh, 16 in Manipur, 1 in Meghalaya and 7 in Mizoram.

Additionally, within NFR’s jurisdiction, West Bengal unloaded 222 rakes, while Bihar accounted for 179 rakes, comprising both essential and non-essential commodities, further strengthening inter regional supply chains.
