Central Railway’s (CR) Pune Division converted the 52-kg Diamond Double Slip (DDS) point to 60-kg point in Pune yard last Sunday.
This was done during a 9-hour block taken on August 2, 2026 8:00 hrs to 17:00 hrs. This is the third conversion to be carried out in Pune yard.
Advantages:
The conversion will improve the strength, durability and safety of track infrastructure in Pune yard. It will support heavier trains and handle higher traffic and higher speeds safely. Besides, it will ensure smoother, faster train operations and reduce maintenance requirements.
Major works completed during the block include replacement of
• Eight stock rails and eight tongue rails along with fittings
• Two acute crossings and two obtuse crossings along with pre-welded approach rails
• Four lead rails
• Four switch motors along with roddings
In addition, fabrication of four in-situ glued joints and insertion of four pre-fabricated glued joints were also done.
Additional works completed during the shadow block:
• Replacement of 13 turnout sleepers of 1 in 8.5, 60Kg TWS (232/I)
• Replacement of two glued joints and 60 RMT Rail in T/O 232/I
• Breaking, replacing and epoxy grouting of 10 sleepers of platform apron on Platform 1.
CR Bhusawal Division commissions new 610 m stabling line in Manmad yard
Central Railway Bhusawal Division has commissioned a new 610 m CSR stabling line near the existing Kanda siding.
Commissioned on July 28, 2026, the line is now operational with the first full rake successfully placed on the line. This new stabling line will facilitate in handling piece meal easing out operations at Manmad’s yard.
