
Guru Prakash, Commissioner of Railway Safety (CRS), Eastern Circle Kolkata carried out a detailed inspection of new rail bridge over the Ganga between Rajendrapul-Hathidah over East Central Railway’s (ECR) Danapur Division on October 3, 2026.

On the first day, the CRS did a motor trolley inspection of doubling and electrification of the section on the new bridge built for conveying both goods and passenger trains. The entire inspection is to be completed in two days, that is October 3 and October 4, 2026.

On day 1, the CRS inspection was done from the main bridge (Eastern Line) between Rajendra Pul and Hathidah Up to the new viaduct -1 (Howrah End) between Hathidah Up to Rampur Dumra. With the commencement of train operations on this bridge, the speed and capacity of rail traffic of North and South Bihar will increase.
The CRS was accompanied by Chief Administrative Officer / Construction / South, Rajiv Gupta, Divisional Railway Manager / Danapur Vinod Kumar, along with other senior officials.

3 EI works, 2 LC interlocking; automatic signalling commissioned in Mokama –Rampur Dumra section
Three new electronic interlocking (EI) works, two level crossing interlocking works and automatic signalling works were commissioned on the 13-km Mokama-Rampur Dumra section of ECR’s Danapur Division on Saturday.

EI was commissioned at Tal, Hathidah and Rampur Dumra stations along with interlocking of two level-crossing gates besides commissioning of automatic signalling in this section.
The EI commissioning at three stations will improve efficiency and reliability in train operations. Interlocking of two LC gates will result in safer operation of road and rail traffic at the LC intersection. Completion of auto signalling works on the 13-km Mokama-Rampur Dumra section will increase train handling capacity and improve safety in train operations.
