Bengaluru Metro Phase 2A and 2B Approved by Union Cabinet, Phase 2 Completion in Four Years

The Union Cabinet has cleared the Phase 2A and 2B extensions to the Bengaluru Metro Rail project today, announced Minister for Railways Piyush Goyal at a press briefing.

Bengaluru Metro’s Phase 2A project envisages construction of a metro line from Central Silk Road to KR Puram. Phase 2B is the further extension of this line from KR Puram to the Bengaluru Airport via Hebbal Junction.

Total length of both phases is 58 kilometres. The total cost approved for the project is Rs. 14,788 crores.
