Central Railway Freight Loading Revenue Grows 9.3 per cent in Q1 of FY 2024

Freight loading continues its upward trajectory on Indian Railways. Moving in sync, Central Railway has reported a 9.3% growth in freight loading for the first quarter of the financial year 2023-24.

As per data provided by the zone, Central Railway earned Rs. 806.10 crores in freight charges for June 2023. The zone earned Rs. 2,354.40 crores from April to June 2023. This represents an increase of 9.31% over earnings of Rs 2,153.90 crores from the corresponding period in the previous year.

22.34 MT of goods were transported from April to June 2023, a 3.33% increase over last year’s 21.62 MT.

CR transported 7.40 million tonnes in June-2023 against 7.17 million tonnes in June-2022, a rough increase of 3.06%.

According to the zone, NTKM increased by 6.8% in the month of June 2023 as compared to June 2022.
