Chittaranjan Locomotive Works has preserved a broad gauge shunting locomotive of WDS-4D at the Desh Bandhu loco park on 1st April 2021 in the locomotive production unit’s township.
WDS-4Ds were diesel-hydraulic locomotives produced by CLW in the 1980s and 1990s. They were meant for shunting duties and were found in major yards all over India. The plinthed WDS-4D was taken off active service in 2006.
A D 50A-15 120 hp vintage hydraulic bulldozer was also preserved at the loco park. The bulldozer was used during the construction of various landmark structures in Chittaranjan township and loco works for 25 years between 1971-96 after which it was taken out of service.
