Starting December 15, 2020, Indian Railways (IR) will resume its recruitment process for its ongoing three employment notifications by its Railway Recruitment Boards (RRBs).
This was informed by Dr A S Khati Director General 9HR) Railway Board in a press conference on Friday.
Over 1.03 lakh registered candidates will appear for 1663 vacancies in the first category namely Isolated / Ministerial category.
The vacancies are for positions stenographers, teachers, translators. The computer -based test (CBT) test will be conducted in two shifts from December 15 to December 18, 2020 for this category across 354 centres. E-call letters have already been issued.
For NTPC (non-technical popular category), 1.26 crore candidates have registered for 35208 vacancies. The vacancies are for the clerical cadre such as station masters, guards, office clerks and commercial clerks.
The first stage CBT will be conducted from December 28,2020 until mid-March 2021.
Finally, recruitment for level-1 employees such as pointsman, track maintainers and other level 1 employees will happen after the NTPC examination and has tentatively scheduled from April 2021 onwards. A total of 1.15 crore candidates have registered under this category for 103769 vacancies across IR.
In all, IR is recruiting over 1.4 lakh employees from a pool of 2.44 crore candidates.
Selection of candidates in these RRBs will be based on merit list as per the CBT performance of candidates. IR has removed the element of discretion by doing away with personal interviews of candidates.
IR will run special exam trains for candidates, wherever required and feasible.
Other information
Candidates may download E-call letters from RRB Website from 1600 hrs today. The link for viewing the exam city & date and downloading of travel authority for SC/ST candidates has been made available on all RRB website from 5th December onwards.
Exam centres
The candidates have been allotted exam centres either within their states or involving minimum travel.Female and PWD (persons with disability) candidates have been allotted centres in their home state.
The first exam for isolated/ministerial categories will be in conducted in two shifts of 90 minutes each for attempting 100 questions. Time limit for PWD will be 120 minutes for 100 questions.
The first shift is between 900 hours and 1030 hours while the second shift is from 1330 to 1500 hours.
Facilities for candidates
Mock test facility has been made for candidates before actual examination
Candidates are shown their question paper, answer Booklets along with correct answer keys. They are also given an opportunity to raise objection regarding correctness of questions, if any.
Exam process
The candidate’s bio-metric and photograpgh will be captured before the exam with the photograph displayed on candidates’ screens.
Candidates’ response will be captured in the system with 128-bit encryption. There will be detailed audit trails for every candidate.
The centres will be under CCTV surveillance with real time command centre monitoring.
Covid 19 protocols apply
Covid 19 protocols such as mandatory temperature checks/ face masks, crowd management as per Covid SOP, centre sanitisation between two shifts will be done.
