COVID-19 Effect: IRCTC Cancels Mumbai-Ahmedabad, Delhi-Lucknow Tejas For Poor Occupancy

Low occupancy due to COVID-19 has forced Indian Railways Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC) to suspend services of both the Tejas trains that it operates.

In a letter written to Indian Railways (IR) on Monday, November 16, 2020, IRCTC said that its management had decided to cancel Lucknow Jn- New Delhi Tejas express (Train number 82501/02) effective November 23 and the Ahmedabad -Mumbai Central Tejas effective November 24, 2020, due to low occupancy.

IRCTC requested IR to direct the concerned zonal railways- North Eastern Railway and Western Railway on this decision to cancel these trains effective the above-mentioned dates.

These trains will remain cancelled until further notice IRCTC wrote.

Following this, IRCTC also requested the concerned zones to cancel these trains with effect from the above-mentioned dates.
