CR: 3,400 Tons of Parcel Traffic, 498 Tons of Medicine, Pharma Products, 1.4k Tons of Perishables Transported

In the relentless battle against COVID19, Central Railway transported 498 tonnes of medicine and pharma products during lockdown across the country. Central Railway ensures seamless transportation of medical items on priority during the nationwide lock down.

Central Railway planned 323 parcel trains out of which 230 time-tabled parcel trains have already run and 93 trains are scheduled to run.

These parcel trains have transported more than 3,421 tonnes of essential goods from Mumbai, Nagpur, Pune, Solapur and Bhusaval divisions of Central Railway including 498 tonnes of essential medicines and other medical equipment.

It also includes 1,397 tonnes of perishable items like fruits, vegetables, etc, 34 tonnes of postal bags, 29 tonnes of e-commerce items, etc.
