CR Conducts Staff Refresher Training Online

Central Railway battling coronavirus pandemic leading from the front in every aspect since the nationwide lockdown from 23rd of March 2020. Subsequently on demand, Central Railway is also operating 200 selected suburban services from 15th June 2020 for essential staff as identified by the State Government on its suburban sections of Main line and Harbour line.  The Kurla, Kalva and Sanpada EMU Carsheds of Central Railway are maintaining the EMU rakes while refreshing the workforce through online training also.

Maintenance of EMU rakes

· Safety and security checks along with battery voltage checking of stabled rakes at regular intervals.

· Under-gear examination by movement of rakes by 100-500 meters

· Checking and attention of passenger amenities such as lights, fans, switches, PA/PIS.

· All Rakes stabled at various stabling siding with all windows and doors closed;  sealing done; all panto kept down; battery switch kept isolated; secured with skids and handed over to RPF for security purpose.

Screening of staff, sanitization of the working place, sections, administrative building is done on a daily basis before the start of the work.

Monsoon preparedness activities started in the EMU rakes during this period and work of monsoon related in EMU rakes completed successfully.

· Special check schedule being carried out in the rakes for service readiness as per guidelines and one cycle special check completed in all EMU rakes. Implementation of reliability action plan items such as provision of electric wipers on EMU.

· One cycle panto roof checking and meggering done jointly along with OHE staff.

· All EMU rakes water jet cleaning of DBRs & then base insulators thoroughly carried.

· During night stabling of these rakes are sanitized.

Training conducted through online

· 59 staff from Kurla, Kalva and Sanpada car sheds have participated in online training conducted in April 2020

· 262 staff from Kurla, Kalva and Sanpada car shed have participated in online training of EMU Overview in April 2020, May 2020 and June 2020

· Online refresher course training of one week duration for artisans staff was conducted in batches (73 in first batch and 53 in second batch)

· Besides e-office training was also conducted for the office staff.

Inhouse production of masks and sanitizer

1500 Litres hand sanitizer & thousands of face masks were prepared inhouse at Kurla, Kalva & Sanpada Carshed for their staff.

Foot operated drinking water arrangement

Foot operated drinking water arrangement at RO plant is provided in order to avoid direct contact with tap in Kurla & Kalva Carsheds.        

Contactless drinking water arrangement

In Sanpada Carshed lens operated drinking water arrangement at RO plant is provided in order to avoid direct contact with tap.
