CR: Devlali-Muzaffarpur Kisan Rail Transports 5,225 Tons in 19 Trips

India’s first Kisan Rail has now run 19 trips on the Devlali-Muzaffarpur route. It now operates triweekly.

According to a statement released by Central Railway, the service has transported 5,223 tons of produce for farmers upto 2nd October 2020.

Perishables like pomegranate (anar), capsicum, green chilli, ginger, lemon, iced fish are transported in Kisan Rail.  Pomegranate 2,039 tonnes, mix vegetables 1,303 tonnes and other items have been transported.


A new facility to book farm produce in Kisan Rail is also introduced with the installation of POS machines at Sangola, Modlimb, Belvandi, Belapur & Kopergaon stations of Solapur Division benefiting farmers with ease of doing business & quick transaction time, Central Railway claimed.
