Abhai Kumar Rai, Commissioner of Railway Safety, Southern Circle, Bangalore conducted Inspection and High Speed Trial Run on the newly laid 2nd Broad Gauge railway line between Mecheri Road – Omalur railway stations in Salem – Mettur Dam section today – 25.02.2021.
K. Raveendra Babu, Chief Administrative Officer / Construction / Chennai Egmore, Ram Kishore, Chief Engineer / Construction / West / Chennai Egmore, A. Gautam Srinivas, Divisional Railway Manager, Salem Division and V. Rajagopalan, Deputy Chief Engineer / Construction / Salem accompanied the Commissioner of Railway Safety during the day long inspection. Officials of various departments of Salem Railway Division were also present.
The statutory inspection commenced at Omalur Jn. railway station this morning. Commissioner of Railway Safety and key officials proceeded on motor trolleys towards Mecheri Road railway station, inspecting enroute various parameters of the newly laid 2nd broad gauge railway line. Afternoon, a High Speed Trial Run, with a special train formation, was held from Mecheri Road railway station to Omalur Jn.
A Track Recording Car with modern equipments, to observe and record various aspects of the railway track, was part of the special train formation.
