CRS Inspection of Kudachi-Raybag Doubling Complete, Commissioning Likely Soon

The Commissioner of Railway Safety has completed the inspection of doubling work recently completed on the Kudachi-Raybag section of the Londa-Miraj line on South Western Railway.

A. K. Rai, Commissioner of Railway Safety (CRS) / Southern Circle, Bengaluru conducted the statutory inspection and speed trial of the newly laid double line on 15th March 2021.  The newly laid second line will be opened for goods and passenger traffic after SWR complies with any observations that the CRS makes.

This second line between Kudachi and Raybag is part of the 186 km doubling of Londa – Miraj project sanctioned in 2015-16 at a cost of Rs. 3,627.47 Cr.

The section has two major Bridges, 20 minor bridges, 22 waterway bridges, four road under bridges and one canal bridge on this section in addition to four level crossings.

Doubling between Ghatprabha to Chikodi Road (16 Km) and Chikodi Road – Raybag (14 Km) on the Londa – Miraj line has already been commissioned.
